There’s nothing especially flashy about the Crow. There’s nothing necessarily novel about its design. It’s not bringing anything new to the table. And that’s what makes it one of the best and most useful knives Mars Fire makes. This one is truly a jack of all trades. A humble drop point and gently curved 4.5” edge make up the blade, with a fairly straight 4.5” handle to back it up, that’s all there is. But that’s all there needs to be. The Crow was one of the first designs I made for myself, and I still love carrying the original. With this knife I’ve done everything from food preparation, to heavy duty bushcraft, to cleaning, skinning, and butchering game.  I’ve thrown it, I’ve pried with it, I’ve cut insulation with it, I’ve chiseled with it, I’ve camped with it, I even accidentally threw it through my foot once! It handled all these tasks with ease, and kept it’s edge beautifully. Its full distal taper makes it handle well, and slice especially effectively towards the board tip. Its convex edge stays keen and is easily resharpened. And its size and weight make it easy to carry with you every day or tuck away in a bag or pack. If you’re the sort that loves simplistic efficiency and time tested designs, then this is the knife for you.
